On route we’ll stop off in Athlone, known as the centre of Ireland and we’ll enjoy a welcome drink in Sean’s Bar, the oldest bar in Ireland before making our way on to Galway City. Once we check into our hotel we will enjoy an evening of traditional Irish music with Emma, Eoin and friends.
DAY 2 - Explore Galway
We begin today with a walking tour of Galway City. This busy and buzzing city is known all over the world for its Claddagh Jewellery, varied street performances, cultural diversity and architectural beauty. We will take a short drive to Oranmore Castle, home of the late Alec Finn, founding member of the band De Dannan. Built in the 15th century, this castle boasts amazing views over Galway Bay with authentic artefacts and we’ll enjoy a few tunes with our musicians in the great hall. Next on the tour is a very exclusive and exciting opportunity to visit and see an instrument maker at work, Paul Doyle. You will get to see how a range of different instruments are made. The Rest of the day is your own to explore the cobbled streets and sample some of the finest seafood on offer.
DAY 3 - Galway to Dingle
Today we set off for Dingle. On route we will we stop at the Cliffs of Moher, sea cliffs that run for 14km and at their highest point are 702ft above sea level. We’ll take a tour of this iconic fortress; hear and see how the lords and ladies of this castle lived; hear stories of battles and bravery and enjoy stunning views across the idyllic Clare countryside. Once in Ennis, we’ll enjoy some of the many sessions that make this stop one of the most enjoyable.
